Description

What might once have been ruggedly handsome features have been eroded and battered by the passage of time into merely 'world-weary'. Heavy, bushy brows lend the elder man a habitual frown above hazel eyes that gleam with intelligence one might have cause to overlook, given the strength of his remaining features. A slightly hooked nose is accompanied by first a well-tended beard, then a medium-kept beard that is somewhat less so, though merely by nature of it being rather bushy rather than his being unkempt. Tall and craggy, Ab cuts a mildly intimidating figure when it suits him; though generally a slight hunch keeps him from drawing overmuch attention. That seems to suit him just fine.

Simply attired, as seems to be his preference, he goes about his business in a weathered set of dark brown robes, over a long tunic of washed-out grey and sturdy black breeches, tucked into his tough hide boots.

Relationships

Percival Dumbledore Father: Aberforth's father rotted away in Azkaban because he attacked the muggles that assaulted Ariana. Aberforth couldn't be prouder to have Percival for a father. It is Percival's sacrifice for his daughter that has kept Aberforth from seeking to create a family of his own. Not feeling he is a man that could make such sacrifices.

Kendra Dumbledore Mother: (1851 – 1899) Aberforth's father sacrificed his freedom so that Ariana could be avenged. Aberforth's mother made sacrifices every day of the rest of her life to keep her family together. To keep Ariana with them and protected.

Ariana Dumbledore Sister: (1885 – 1899) Ariana was never the same girl after her assault. But Aberforth loved the newer sadder Ariana perhaps even more so than before. Much like his father did Aberforth did what he could for his sister before she was killed. It destroyed her, what they did: She was never right again. She wouldn't use magic, but she couldn't get rid of it; it turned inward and drove her mad, it exploded out of her when she couldn't control it, and at times she was strange and dangerous. But mostly she was sweet and scared and harmless.

Dumbledore Aberforth's elder brother, though few know it. Ab doesn't speak of the man, nor are they ever seen in one another's company.
