Description
A young man in his mid-teens stands relatively tall for his age at roughly 5'8" and growing. Dark brown hair is swept up out of his face in a style that's at its peak in style. Thick dark eyebrows hood over azure eyes and thick lashes. A roman nose that has a 'knot' where it widens out before narrowing again for a button nose tip. The rest of his features are rather elfin, with high cheekbones and a sloping jawline that rounds out in a small chin. His lips are thin with just the barest of an upper lip. Athletically built, with broad shoulders and long arms and legs. Garrett is made for activity, calloused hands and often windblown hair contribute to the jock like airs the young Sykes boy radiates.
At the moment Garrett is wearing a Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry uniform. Rather notable by the scarlet and gold colouring he must have sorted into House Gryffindor. A grey vest edged in gold and scarlet covers a crisp white Oxford shirt, buttoned from the belt-line to the collar and accented with a scarlet tie with narrow gold stripes. The shirt is tucked neatly into matching grey trousers that fall to the tops of black shoes. Over all of this flows a voluminous black robe lined in soft Gryffindor Scarlet fabric, unadorned except for a scarlet maned golden lion standing rampant over a scarlet background with gold fret sewn over the heart.
Background
The Sykes family. Old. Proud. Excellence is their name, and they strive to raise excellent, accomplished wizards. And the upbringing that Garrett Sykes was subjected to was no less different. Up at dawn, study, discipline, chores, barely any time for playing, over and over. He always had problems with the studying part of things, his mind tended to wander, even at a young age. Every family has a black sheep and Garrett was the Sykes' Black Sheep. When he was old enough to do so, he found that his niche was sports and games. Quidditch, broom-racing, hiking, exploding snap, gobstones and the like. Anything where he was actively moving and playing he latched unto. The discipline he retained from his upbringing shined in his understanding of rules.

It thankfully came time for Garrett to attend Hogwarts. And really, he couldn't be happier. Hogwarts was a place where he didn't have to start doing chores, and drilling, as soon as he woke up. He could goof off all day, and if he was tricky and subtle, he could do it even during classes. Being as he is a friendly sort, he soon had a circle of friends that he adored. A second family - one that got him much better than most of the Sykes did. Of course, he had to go back home to that family for the summer. Disgruntled now with the over strict environment Garrett rather rebelled against his parents. Even going so far as to run away. Quickly he was found and returned home. The summer after that there was a compromise and Garrett was enrolled in Quidditch Camp. The rub however was that he had to walk the straight and narrow, do his chores and follow orders to the T at home.
His education at Hogwarts though his least favorite part of being at the school consisted of mediocre results in the core classes. Beyond those his electives are Care of Magical Creatures and just to give a little prod to his Purist Parents, Muggle Studies. They have such amazing minds for games and sports and since they don't have magic, their lives are much more physical. Garrett is almost envious.

Ria
Older Sister - Ria the bookworm. Ria the magical prodigy. One of the few delights in his life when he wasn't being outdoors was tormenting her whenever possible, usually through harmless (to him, anyways) pranks. That wasn't to say Ria didn't get her revenge every so often. Such as the time when, after an argument, she managed in one of the usual proofs of early magic to turn his hair pink, and set it into ringlets. What made it worse, was that the spell stuck - it had to fade on its own, in two weeks time.

Since Kaiden joined the Hufflepuff Team that butting of heads has become rather well known in their competitiveness against each other on the Pitch.
