Description

Gresham is a decidedly average boy (5'3", 128lbs) with lightly tanned skin, brown eyes, and matching hair cropped short around the ears and at the nape of the neck. He has an ebon-hued braided rope tattooed into his neck.

At the moment Gresham is wearing a Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry uniform. Rather notable by the green and silver colouring he must have sorted into House Slytherin. A grey vest edged in green and silver covers a crisp white Oxford shirt, buttoned from the belt to the collar and accented with a green tie with narrow silver stripes. The shirt is tucked neatly into matching gray trousers that fall to the tops of black shoes. Over all of this flows a voluminous black robe lined in soft Slytherin Green fabric, unadorned except for a silver snake slithering over a green background with a silver chevron sewn over the heart.

Background

Gresham Lawrence Ollivander was born in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, to Ulysses Ollivander and Sylvia Travers. His family having a long, long history at Hogwarts, Gresham is the latest in his line to attend.

Gresham wanted for nothing early on in life, his parents having practically more money than they knew what to do with. From an early age, Gresham showed an interest in potion-making and broom-flying, later developing an interest in Herbology and Transfiguration. He never practiced anything, only reading in books, his parents having ingrained the seriousness of underage practicing into him.

When the letter finally came, he was overjoyed. From the moment he first set foot on the grounds of Hogwarts, Gresham knew exactly what he wanted to do: become an Auror. For the past four years, and now in his fifth, Gresham has been focusing efforts to achieve perfect marks his OWLS in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions. Gresham also elected to take Ancient Runes and Divination to round out his skill-set. His class schedule being what it was, Gresham barely had time to himself, so his social skills are not as developed as one might hope.

Gresham performed admirably in all of his classes, though he showed particular aptitude in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Potion-making, as well as Broom-flying. Initially, he found Herbology to be the most difficult, especially after the incident with the Mandrake, and spending the rest of the day in the healing ward. Gradually, though, he was able to put the proverbial pieces together, and now grasps it as well as any other student. History of Magic and Astronomy he found to be considerably easier to pick up than Herbology. He elected to take up Ancient Runes and Divination to while away the downtime between classes and Quidditch practice.

Gresham opted to remain in school to finish out his learning, and thus enter the world better prepared to tackle his dream job: being an Auror.

Quirks

  • Wealth: Well-to-Do
  • Perfectionist
  • Brave
  • Intellectual
  • Good Memory

RP Hooks

  • Gresham has his eye on a spot in the Aurors division. Anything that can help him, he'll more than likely accept. He might even return the favor.
  • Slytherin is his family… His second family, at least. He'll go to the ends of the earth for them.
  • He might be interested in the Dark Arts, but purely so he can learn how to properly defend against them. What better way to learn how to protect oneself than to learn the methods by which one could be harmed?

Relationships

Polly

Polly
New Friend
Slytherin — Pure Blood
In the wake of Esther's disappearance, Gresham has taken solace in the unknown.

Esther

Esther
Absent Friend
Slytherin — Pure Blood
Gresham didn't just find himself nibbled on by the love-bug, but chomped, snacked on, and quite possibly eaten alive, when it came to Esther. He'd always thought of her as the princess to his knight-in-shining-armour, and he figured it was in the cards somewhere that the two were fated for each other. Recent events, however, have shown otherwise.

Medusa

Medusa
Friend?
Slytherin — Pure Blood
The Dragon Queen herself. Medusa holds his loyalty insofar as she is Slytherin, and so is he. Not much else.

Lucretia

Lucretia
Friend
Slytherin — Pure Blood
A Slytherin, and thus worth Gresham's loyalty, as always.

Riddle

Riddle
Friend?
Slytherin — Pure Blood
Gresham knows little of the young boy, but can't help shaking the feeling that the boy is somehow destined for something great, and whatever it is, Gresham wants in.
