Description
Standing just above six feet tall, with a build that's muscular, yet neither on the lean side or on the very heavy side, this man that seems to be in his late twenties or early thirties looks like someone that usually spends a lot of time working out. His dark brown hair is kept only a few inches long, and carefully kept away from his face, where a nose that clearly has been broken at least once before, as well as hazel eyes that watch the world a bit carefully, and a mouth that seems to smile more often than not seems to be the most recognizable features.
He's currently wearing a dark grey vest over a white shirt, both looking to be quite stylish and comfortable. He also wears a red tie, grey trousers that match the vest, as well as a pair of comfortable dark shoes.
Background Summery
The Higgs family of Norfolk has long been seen as an esteemed, if a bit eccentric, Wizarding family, and Bernhard Higgs was no different. Working as a researcher for the Ministry of Magic, he got to know a woman named Miriam Pyrites, a London-born witch who worked for the Daily Prophet. At first, the two took an instant dislike for each other, while both found the other one attractive, but as time went on, the two came to accept each other and in time they were married. Hadrian's older sister, Sarah was born a year later. Five years later he was born. When Hadrian was 8 his beloved maternal uncle Trajan was killed by a spider bite, leaving Hadrian an arachnaphobe.
At Hogwarts he was sorted into Slytherin and while he wasn't the most excellent student, he passed easily enough. Hadrian chose to take Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes as his electives and eventually narrowed his classes down to Charms and Care of Magical Creatures for NEWTs. It was Quidditch that Hadrian excelled in the most, he joined the Slytherin Team his second year as a Seeker and dedicated most of his time to the sport.
While waiting for his big break to get onto a Pro-Quidditch Team he wrote for a Quidditch magazine. Luckily he made the cut and became a Falmouth Falcon! He became very famous very fast and like fame does to many young people, Hadrian became a bit of a bon vivant. To the point where things happened and the Falmouth Falcon's happily traded him over to the Appleby Arrows. Though his bon vivant lifestyle hasn't truly changed much. He's at least begun to try his hand at more charitable work.
Background
The Higgs family of Norfolk has long been seen as an esteemed, if a bit eccentric, Wizarding family, and Bernhard Higgs was no different. Working as a researcher for the Ministry of Magic, he got to know a woman named Miriam Pyrites, a London-born witch who worked for the Daily Prophet. At first, the two took an instant dislike for each other, while both found the other one attractive, but as time went on, the two came to accept each other and in time they were married. A year after that, their first child, a girl named Sarah, and then five years later, their second child, a boy who got the name Hadrian Immanuel Higgs was born.
Due to the age difference, Hadrian and his older sister were not that close, and most of the time, when he was old enough, the boy spent on his own. Very soon it was clear that he was one of those children that always got into scary situations. He found that sort of situations gave him a very good feeling, and after a while, he seemed to end up in those incidents on purpose. He also proved to love sports and similar activities.
One of the members of his family that he got along the best with was his uncle, Trajan Pyrites, who was working as a cursebreaker. Sadly, Trajan passed away when Hadrian was eight, after having been bit by a large, poisonous spider, and not getting treatment in time, an event that's left Hadrian terrified of arachnids.
He went to Hogwarts when his time came, and ended up sorted into Slytherin. Although he was far from the most excellent student, he never hid himself from the public, and in his second year, he tried out for the Seeker spot at the house Quidditch team, and ended up getting it. When it came to that game, he became known as a skilled player, although he was known for showing off a bit too often, and for his sometimes brutal and ruthless play when fighting for the Snitch.
When not on the Quidditch pitch, he was known as a relatively easy person to get along with, his best subject when it came to the school part being Charms. But all in all, he was not a super brilliant student, focusing much of his effort on the sports side of things instead of his schoolwork. He was one of those persons that actively tried to get to know at least a few persons in the other houses, although few of them ever became close friends to the young man.
It was during the summer before his fourth year that he actually started paying more attention to his schoolwork, and although he never lost sight of his main goal of becoming a Quidditch player, at least he managed to get through all his OWLs, including his electives of Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes. He managed to get two Os(Charms and Care of Magical Creatures), three Es(Astronomy, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfigurations) and the rest of them As, although most of the grades were at the weaker parts of the grades.
Moving onwards, he took two NEWT classes, those being the two classes he was best at from before. He still worked rather hard on the schoolwork, but Quidditch stayed his number one priority. The result of that was that his grades slipped a bit to low-to-medium Es. It was also during these years he got to know a girl called Marianne Hudson, and for the next six or seven years, the two of them had a sort of on-again-off-again relationship.
And then, when he had managed to get himself through school, he spent the next year doing some writing for a Quidditch magazine, before his big break came. The Falmouth Falcons had been looking for a new Seeker, and Hadrian managed to get a chance to show them how good he was. Something that ended with him getting signed to the team, and soon proved himself to be a skilled Seeker.
But as such things go, young men ending up with a bit of fame and freedom often find themselves in trouble, at least when it comes to the public. There were more than a few times over the next number of years that the young man reached the news for the stuff happening outside the pitch. A number of the histories involved partying, and some stories involved women. For example, he was absent for training from a Saturday to a Wednesday. When the media asked him, he informed them it was because of honesty. He explained that on the Friday night, his then-girlfriend had asked him if a certain piece of clothing made her look fat, and he had been honest as he answered. Then he had been knocked out from that point until Monday, and took two more days to recover from the incident.
Talking with reporters were something he really enjoyed, but the problems they had was that they could never really tell what was the truth and what he'd only made up there and then. But at least some of them liked that he always seemed to have time to talk, even though he was not as easy as a lot of other people to interview, because he always gave them something, even if it was just a bit of craziness.
Why the Falcons let go of him after five years remains a mystery to this day. Some will say it was because the team tired of his antics off the pitch, while others said it involved a number of other people. The fact remains that when the season was over, he was informed that they didn't need his services anymore. This sent him into a period of much drinking and he still hit the news for his troubled life, especially as his old friend Marianne moved away from the country. It took about two months of the new season, and a nasty incident with the Seeker of the Appleby Arrows and a few Bludger hits, and he was back in the game, as the Arrows needed a replacement for the Seeker, a position he's held since then.
Outside the pitch, he's still the same, leaving lots of things for the reporters to report on. One big difference is that he's made an effort to do some good deeds, spending some money to help the homeless and such. Those that doesn't like him, claims that it's just for the public image, but aside from Hadrian himself, who would really know?
