Abraxas's Costume - Scariest Costume Winner

This figure is a bit under six feet tall. Billowy, torn robes in faded black hang around his figure in layers that flutter with every movement, and those who draw too close will feel the chill of the ice charm on the outermost later. The cowl covers his entire face and head in shadow, and the face beneath is painted black as well. The hands, on the other hand, are grey, with long fingers and claws when they emerge from the voluminous, dark sleeves. He is a dementor, come to steal all joy from your life.

Amyah's Costume

You are looking at a robed figure with a fox face. Rather short, as it stands at five feet and four inches. Black robes falls around the form of the child, the ends of the sleeves wider and frayed, and the ends at the tops of the black boots look frayed and torn as well. The pants underneath are black too, but the robes hide them, and the boots are scuffed and well worn. The cowl is pulled up and over top of Amyah’s head, but it is the mask that partially hides her freckled face from view. The fox mask is made out of felt and only fits over her eyes, where it’s red - her green eyes peering out through the holes - and rests on top of her nose, where the mask is white. The ears that are attached to the top of the mask are red around the outside and white on the inside.

Angelus's Costume

Standing at the height of five feet and three inches, the athletic form of the boy is clad all in black leather. His oval face is a pasty white with what looks like a scar on his right cheek, the scratches criss-crossing and bright red as though the wound were still fresh. Blood even smears a bit in places, and looks to be dripping off his chin below the scar. His small, wide nose is set below eyes that shine menacingly and are yellow. Soft lines of his jaw run down to a rounded chin, and his small lips are a pale, unhealthy grey colour. His hair has been unchanged, but the ash blonde colour stands out in contrast to the rest of the dark colours and pale features. Instead of styled neatly in place, his curls actually are left wild, hanging around ear length.

His black leather pants cling snugly to his legs with a gleam to the material. The sleeveless shirt is hidden underneath the leather jacket. The silver zipper is pulled up straight, and then at his collar bones veer off to the side where it zips up to the neck. His well soled boots are well-polished, tied up to halfway up his calves. Tears have been made in the leather jacket, because black, obviously feather, wings give the impression of sprouting from the youth's back. They only begin to open, twitching lightly but drooping as if they were injured. One wing drips blood from its tip while the other is drenched in blood in the middle. The blood that drops of his wings fails to leave any stains on the ground, and in fact simply vanishes before hitting the ground.

This costume is coupled with Celes.

Angus's Costume

Red bearded, with long dramatic hair, and a white shirt of the 'poets' variety, tucked into a great plaid, which is belted around his waist, and looped around and over his shoulder. A sword (wooden in this case) sits in a leather baldrick at his side, and a wooden shield sits conveniently to hand. At the belt is a sheath for a wand, in place of a pistol.

The only thing is, if this is a Highlander (and perhaps even the famous Rob Roy MacGregor), firstly the tartan is that of the MacMillans, and secondly, normally aHighland warrior is drawn to a somewhat larger scale. This is at most a 2/3 sized model, and through the facial hair can be seen the grinning face of Angus MacMillan.

Antonin & Riddle's Costume - Coupled Costume Winner

St. George's Reference

Antonin's costume is quite the elaborate Dragon costume. He is rather small so the framework around him allows for actual dragon shape so that he can easily walk around on all fours or rear up and walk on two legs. Each black leather scale is attached to a thin leather skin that is brushed with an iridescent green to really make each individual scale its own work of art. A head gear like device is attached to Antonin's head inside the dragon's neck that attaches to the mouth that hinges open and closed when he opens and closes his mouth. When he exhales from his nose smoke comes out of the dragon head's nostrils. A knight's lance is pierced through the heart.

Tom Riddle is in full knight's garb. Silver armor with black and green colors on the shield and coronet. The armor is modeled after the famous depictions of St. George. The helmet has a visor that is very intricately etched and even though it draws from the St. George myth, it looks more like something a champion of Salazar Slytherin would wear in medieval times as the etchings have several snakes entwined on them with some small skulls to add to the Halloween factor. A green cloak is attached to the armor at the shoulders by a chain of entwined snakes. A pendent that hangs from the chain is octagonal in shape and has a green glittery 'S' inlaid behind faceted glass. The joints of the armor are well oiled and really magic must be at work because the armor isn't as noisy as it should be.

Anthony's Costume

This is a tall youth of perhaps eighteen. His dark hair is slicked down, and covered by a form fitting skullcap, of pressed white linen. The face is square, and faintly tanned, as of one who spends time outdoors. The gaze is level, from brown eyes, weighing each individual as he seems them, although often slightly vague, as if looking through them to a place others cannot see, and with Kohl around them to accentuate them and then extended out to mimic the shape of the Eye of Horus amulet.

His clothing is unusual, to say the least, for most of his torso is bare, beyond a richly jeweled gold collar, which reaches much of the way across to his shoulders, and a leopardskin denoting a high priest draped over one shoulder, leaving the rest of the lean musculature of his chest visible. Around his waist, and stretching down almost to his ankles is a tightly starched and ironed pleated white linen kilt, with simple sandles on his feet. The clothing is that of the Ancient Egyptians, a fact echoed by the carved ankh he carries in one hand, on which is written, both in Hieroglyphs, and in Latin letters the name 'Imhotep'.

Cara's Costume - Sweetest Costume Winner

Merely a momentary glance would likely be needed to recognize this as none other than an anthropomorphic deer. Petite yet athletic defines her diminutive bipedal figure, honey brown eyes sharp with clarity and intensity. Graceful antlers rise nearly a foot from thickly lustrous brown human hair, tied into a long ponytail to stream halfway past her thighs. A black button nose and droopy doe ears match to youthful features and light tan fur, her animal coat a downy soft and continuous layer.

A fluffy plumage of white fur flows abundantly outwards across her chest and upper back, while the same hue tints a wide oval across her lithe belly and along wooly forearms that lead to gray forepaws. Each paw consists of heart-shaped pads and slender gray nails, the fur too dense here to view any actual digits. Dark brown spots speckle over her spine while white dots mottle the front of her thighs. The short tuft of a deer tail peeks from the small of her back, tan-lined brown on top and white on bottom. Coltish legs become brown-furred by the shins and calves, only to conclude in dainty gray cloven hooves at the end.

Celes's Costume

Arch Angel Celes is a strange mix of armored knight and angel. Her silvery helm, gauntlets, pauldrons, and breast plate have such elaborate engraving that they appear to be more for decoration than protection. White feathered wings sprout from her back like a cape to give the nod to her angelic nature and provide the coordination with Angelus’s fallen angel. Below an armored belt, her armor ends, white cloth hiding her legs, silver scroll work adding accents in appropriate places. Furthering her warrior angel nature is a meticulously painted wooden long sword.

Colton's Costume - Silliest Costume Winner

Hodrod the Horny-Handed was a goblin activist who shrank three wizards and then tried to crush them. That is who Colton is dressed up as this Halloween. He's shrunk about a foot and has make-up and costume pieces on that give him the pointed sharp feature of a Goblin. Stringy black hair comes off a mostly bald cranium and some wild coarse hairs sprout of of his big pointed ears and from his nostrils. Knobby hands covered in horn shaped warts with thick yellow claw like fingernails more often than not clutch at some animated figurines dressed up like wizards. The likeness the three wizards have to former Headmaster Flint, Arlo Sykes and Grindelwald are completely coincidental, he'll assure anyone.

Eibhlin's Costume

Elspeth's Costume

There are four elements, this is well known, although only three are visibly seen this evening. If asked, fire element Elspeth will say the fourth is with them, as Emi (Artemis Meliflua) is the air element.

The Ravenclaw prefect is barely recongizable, as her usually pale, freckled, skin is now dark, with the underlying flow of glowing coals. Her usual braid has been pulled into a sleek bun at the nape of her neck, the individual hairs each seeming to shimmer of a different temperature of flame while some simply smoulder as dark coals. The off the shoulder gown glows around the collar, pale yellows and whites of a volcano erupting, and the gown itself flowing to the floor in the swags and crags of a mountainside being reshaped by the runnels of molten red and orange flame flaring between the cooling mounds of magma. Around her wrists, bluebell flames flicker in merry bracelets, showing the playful side of fire, and every once in a while, a bit of the molten drops to the floor to flare up, then become a perfectly frozen flame shape.

Erica's Costume

A pretty pretty princess! No, really, Erica is dressed up like none other than Princess Elizabeth! The princess is the same age so it's not a long stretch of the imagination. A white satin gown with pale sheer taffeta ruffles is covered by a regal cloak in red thick velvet lined in ermine. A sparkly tiara sits atop her coloured brown hair that is done in the exact same short bob style the princess wears her hair. The skirt is volumnous and sparkles with crystal beads at the top of each layer of taffeta. White silk opera gloves cover most of her bare arms and a long drape of taffeta from the sleeveless gown from the shoulders act as mock sleeves. Pretty slippers of white satin peek out from under the skirts in a rare moment. Even the shoes dazzle with a few rhinestones along the edges.

Evelyn's Costume

Appearing as one of the elementals, which appears to be a theme among a certain little group, Evelyn's appearance is very blue. Her dress is an aqua blue, with little white, flowy folds appearing a few times down the dress which are reminiscent of waves. Her skin seems to sparkle with an alternating bluish-almost greenish-with the occasional white that almost seems to pulsate with her movements. From the long sleeves of her dress and the flowing folds appear to be little droplets of water which, on occasion, appear to fall from the dress and splash upon the ground, before they disappear into nothingness. Her shoes are slightly heeled and a light blue colour, to match the rest of her costume.

Felix's Costume

At first it isn't entirely obvious that Felix is wearing a costume at all. He's in his Hogwarts robes, complete with the formal pointed hat. He appears to have a black eye, a bloody nose, and a missing tooth. Closer inspection reveals that the blood under his nose is merely make-up. The eye…might be extremely realistic make-up. But the tooth is actually absent. If asked, he gleefully informs the inquirer that he is dressed as a "hit wizard".

Gabriel's Costume

Gabriel has chosen to attend the 1939 Halloween Feast as one of the most recognizable wizards in history. He's wearing ridiculously ornate, over-sized green robes that manage to look tatty an gaudy even as ornate as they are. Over his robes he's wearing a silver-grey cloak made of silver-grey silk and bordered with snakes embroidered in tarnished silver thread. Gabriel himself looks almost a hundred years old. He's sporting a bald head and a long string white beard that reaches almost to the bottom of his robes. His features have somehow been altered to take on a monkey-like aspect and around his neck he's wearing a locket that's almost as big as his chest, engraved with a snake curled into the shape of an 'S'. All-in-all he a recognizable and highly unflattering caricature of Salazar Slytherin.

Gerald & Soleil's Costume

From the back this pair of Seventh Years when they are together look like they've just dressed up in Medieval Wizard and Witch garb. But from the front the true purpose of their costumes are revealed. Both Gerald and Soleil's chests have been ripped open, white rib bones poking out, internal organs such as lungs and liver and wind pipe and stomach are glossy and extremely realistic looking. The organ that's missing from them both is their Hearts. Soleil's pretty white medieval dress is stained with the blood of her evisceration and beneath her pointed lady's headdress with a green veil coming down off of it her skin has been made up to look quite pale and dead. Her eyes are even milky to push forward the image that she is dead. In leather pants and an intricate sleeveless jerkin Gerald is less so burst open. His white poets shirt is sliced open and just the area of the heart is revealed and similarly missing the heart. But attached to Gerald's cuffs so that he can look like he's holding them without always actually needing to hold them is a pretty red heart in one hand, still thumping and beating while on the other cuff is a shrunken ugly heart that is covered in black hair. When Gerald and Soleil are together a bit of gore can be pulled out of Soleil's chest and attach to the pretty heart on Gerald's sleeve. While apart their costumes seem strange and zombie like together they are quite obviously the Wizard with a Hairy heart and the fair maid he killed to take her heart in the famous Beedle the Bard story.

Hattie's Costume

She wears a capelet of sleek feathers, variegating from brown to a brazen red gold. It is worn like a pair wings, secured by a thread upon her arms at the elbows and wrists, and show her hands a gory red. Her shirt is a camisole of flesh-colored silk, largely occluded by her dark hair. She has made up her lips, that same bloody color as her hands, but the tiny feathers have been cleverly worked around her eyes and into her lashes for a wild and dramatic effect, set of by the line of gold paint down the bridge of her nose. A pair of feather-encrusted jodhpurs encase her legs above knee-high golden brown boots, fashioned with clawed protrusions to resemble the crushing talons of a deadly avian hunter. The sweep of tail feathers fans out behind her, striped and striking.

Josie's Costume

Once again, Josie looks completely to be a boy. Her brown hair is cut short, giving her a mostly boyish look, and what little form she's developed is hidden today in her costume. She's wearing a pale blue jacket over a white shirt and black tie. The jacket has two upper pockets and two lower pockets, separated by a cloth belt. Above the left breast pocket is a sewn badge: the letters RAF over a brown wreath, with wings extending to the left and right and a crown above it. Just below the badge is a line with some rectangular coloured marks. She's also wearing trousers of a matching blue and plain brown boots.

Lara's Costume

Lara is wearing black. A black, richly embroidered dress and long, elegant gloves. While it looks slightly old-fashioned, if not ancient, it has been well-kept and carefully adjusted to fit her slim figure perfectly. A gauzy veil covers part of her face, contrasted by blood red hair spilling from under her pointed hood.

Levi's Costume

It’s likely no surprise that Levi would pick something which flies a phoenix. He wears robes but which have been modified the color a red color in most places with the tail of the robes cut into tail-feathers are various shades of gold . The robes have been textured so they look like feathers with wings attached at his back which can retract or fold out. The seventh year wears a mask also textured a bit to look like feathers with the same mixture of reds and outlined in places in golden hues, except a black beak of course.

Madeline's Costume

Madeline is wearing purple robes with green trim that her uncle picked up for her - rather formal attire, but clearly used. Madeline has done everything she can to 'embellish' the robes to look old fashioned, following drawings she's found in text books and in the library. She has a skirt on under the robes, with a sash around her middle, and a white shirt tucked into the skirt and sash. The sleeves and collar button tightly around her neck and sleeves, and then billow out into lace. In her hand she carries a conductor's baton, and wrapped around her over everything, is a tuba shoved full of - is that fireworks? If asked, she'll gleefully declare herself to be Musidora Barkwith.

Melody's Costume

Note: This costume is coupled with Myrus.

Halloween is a time for all manner of creatures to come out into the world for a night of frolicking. This slight Fae travels in the guise of Melody on regular days, but tonight she can revert to true form. Flowing blond hair has been tucked back behind ears that point delicately upward, some strands straying over her shoulders. Her brows have been darkened slightly with pencil, and drawn out on each side to a sweeping curl at her temples. Liner also darkens around her eyes, making them stand out even more than usual, and lids have been frosted with a trace of earthy brown powder. No other makeup is employed, unnecessary with the natural pale pink of her lips and sweeping tint to her cheeks.

Her dress is suspended from bare shoulders by trails of vines sprouting emerald, heart shaped leaves. The gown itself is flowing, chiffon of swirled earthen colors that floats around her as she moves. It dips a bit at the back, allowing room for gossamer wings that seem to sprout directly from her shoulder blades, charmed to flutter lightly as she moves. More vines wrap her small frame, natural accents that draw the fabric close to her at the waist, leaving it free to trail down to her knees, skirted into kerchief points. Around her right wrist and hand curl more vines, these sporting three blossoms of pale green, each center dotted with a single glittering jewel. Her legs and feet are bare, as befitting a faerie of the forest, and she stays close to her favorite tree, that accompanies her as her date for the dance.

Myrus's Costume

Note: This costume is coupled with Melody.

The ripples of apoxy bark across his bare torso, with the painting between the cracks and crags of the trunk that is his waist and chest. Sprawling around his legs are vines, appearing to grow up from his feet and climbing him as if he were a true part of the forest. At the base of his legs, small roots jut and twist out from his feet, almost like they were actively searching for water, yet no movement is made by them other than moving with his feet as he walks.
His arms are patterned as branches, with knots as his elbows, and the same rough, stretchy plaster over his skin to look like bark. His hands are painted to look like they were carved straight out of a removed branch, as above his wrists another branch from each arm juts out about eight to ten inches, curving up and away so form doesn't impede function. Complete with leaves at the ends of twigs, causing two small 'bushes' towards the ends of his arms.
His face is lined with age lines, like those of the trunk that was hewn from the living wood of a real tree. A branch sticking up from the back of his head, sprouting into foliage up and behind his head, moving fluidly from carved face to raw bark-covered branch atop his cranium, and another off to the right side. His ears are even transfigured to be pointed, to help with the whole idea of a tree spirit.
The drama club and art club really had their work cut out for them. It's even complete with a few twigs sticking out from his body in various places.

Noalan's Costume

Noalan has taken up the guise of a lumbering great earth elemental for the Halloween feast. Atop his head rests a green circlet in a vine design. Stone Grey pauldrons rest on his shoulders, the top covered in short grass. Specially shaped stone plates cover his body and legs, artistic ribbons of gold, silver and copper make simple patterns through his strata from his feet up to his chest. Each joint of the plate is specially placed to allow him free movement, the faint red glow of magma emanates from the joints when then bend. Knee high boots complete the costume, the stony plates shifting to red as they decent towards the floor, the faint magma glow constant at his feet, little licks of flame dancing up from around the soles.
On occasion, as he walks, Lan seems to be leaking Bronze Knuts and Silver Sickles onto the floor.

This costume is coupled with Elspeth.

Sierra's Costume

Sierra is dressed in white robes, tailored in an attempt to mimic ancient Greek styles, with a broach featuring a large blue stone at her shoulder. Afixed to the opposite shoulder is a fox stuffed animal, surrounded by harmlessly burning bluebelle flames - her 'Patronus,' supposedly. Her hair is pulled back in a pony tail, and around her head she wears a silver circlet, set with more blue gems - nevermind the it appears to be made of cardboard, clay and paint and not true metal and gems.
