Mother,

You win. I know no other way to express this. To illuminate the impact of your choice on myself, on others. On her. But… you put it so well. I have to make a choice… and ultimately, I will not let her bear the responsibility and weight of my selfishness.

This is what you wanted, no? To make me the villain? To show that, in all, the control is yours. That I can be bent to you will? So be it. I'll be the monster. I'll destroy all that i've gained here… for love of the future, and to do what little right I have available by me.

You and father have made your wishes clear, and I know when I am caged.

It's done. I've broken her heart. I've broken every promise I've made.

I've become what I hate.
