Description

Kahren is a young woman with a generally cheery disposition, and a little extra meat on her bones. Her features are framed by straight, brown hair, with brown eyes over a small nose. She rarely wears her lime green robes outside of St. Mungos, instead prefering more casual attire that draws less attention.

Background

Scandal defined her young life - to everyone but Kahren and her immediate family. All she knew was that she was loved, cherished and well cared for; it never occured to her just how young her parents were compared to so many other families. Atticus Umbridge and Sarah Laurent fell in love when they were both in school and a little youthful indescretion lead to adult responsibilities. Her mother, the daughter of a Muggle-born wizard, dropped out of Hogwarts a few months after the winter holiday her sixth year. Her father and mother wrote each other often, arranging a hasty but happy marriage the summer before his final year of school. He returned to Hogwarts, leaving his bride and his newborn daughter in the care of his family so he could finish his education, and support his new family.

Kahren grew to be a perceptive and caring girl - and one determined to succeed at school. A poorly mixed potion had left her father in frail health, and even as a young girl she was determined to become a healer and find ways to help him. She was sorted into Hufflepuff, where she made friends easily, though she largely focused her attention on her studies, and in particular her potions class. Of her electives, Care of Magical Creatures was by far her favorite, and became a useful escape from more onerous assignments. Her sixth and seventh year allowed her even less time to socialize as she juggled the five courses she needed to succeed as a healer, dropping all of her electives.

After graduating, she was accepted at St. Mungo's where she worked and studied before being promoted to full Healer, an event she happily celebrated with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She subsequently began to turn her thoughts to earning a second badge in Creature Induced Injuries, while still working to find ways to improve her father's condition.

Relationships

Arthur
Arthur's a fellow Hufflepuff - a few years younger than she was. Kahren took the young Muggle-born under her wing, making sure he was doing alright in his classes - and that he ate enough at meals. They've remained friends and occasional drinking-buddies since graduation.

Rena
Like Arthur, Rena was a fellow Hufflepuff, and a quiet, introverted, and frightened little thing. Never quite knew what to make of her.

Rhyeline
Rhyeline and Kahren have many similar ideals - but Kahren can't seem to find a fraction of the conviction. Still, it's nice to have someone to talk with about books, to speak French with, and to play music with.
