Opened in 1840 by the West London and Westminster Cemetery Company, Brompton Cemetery is one of Britain's oldest and most distinguished garden cemeteries. It is the only cemetery in the country owned by the Crown, and managed by The Royal Parks on behalf of the nation.
Covering 39 acres in densely populate central London, the cemetery is located between Old Brompton and Fulham Roads, on the western border of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The vast green space is a haven of peace and tranquility for wildlife and visitors. For those interested in the history, there are some 25,000 monuments, and over 100,000 people from all walks of life buried on it's grounds.
