Description

This building has the stylized concrete-and-copper facing that is so definitive of the new-fangled Art Deco that is sweeping America by storm, and has just begun to cross the ocean. On the few days where London allows sunlight to cut through the cloud-cover, the copper and the concrete gleam like a bright smile. On the interior, the studio is even more lavishly decorated, with leather sofas and chairs arranged in clusters of well-organized discussion groups. The recording studios are buried deep within the building, but even these are absolutely state-of-the-art. In each area, sheet glass separates the musicians from their producers, who have a rather elegant lounge area in which to view their bands at work. Microphones connect the two areas, and huge wheels of film roll constantly in a recording device, collecting every sound which drops in the studio.
