Description
The Notts residence is classy and elegant without breaking the bank. While Hogsmeade Village is a rather comfortable working class wizard and witch only area the residents of this home seem to know how to make a place seem more grand than a family on a budget usually can. The scent of a mixture of books, pipe smoke and perfume tinge the air in every room slightly.
A mud room just inside the front door is lined with racks and storage space for outside wear and poor weather accessories. A narrow stair is just a few feet from the foyer. The stair and entryway both have a collage of family portraits and moving pictures. It is clear that genealogy is important in this family as the biggest space of wall is decorated with portraits and plaques of ancestors hung up in an organized fashion of a family tree. Behind the frames is painted a large tree to backdrop the fanned out arrangement.
The living room is decorated to receive company and to host soires. The fireplace is large with a dark stone mantle that matches the exterior stones. Chairs, love-seats and sofas are numerous and set up for standing space and conversation. The living and dining room is similarly decorated for entertaining others in mind. Though the family rather small the dining table is large long and surrounded in over a dozen matching oak chairs.
Within the kitchen there is the basics a witch or wizard could need to conjure up something to eat and drink. A sink with an enchanted pump that will gush out clean water ranging from frigid to near boiling hot, the latest in ice box magical artificing, the Freezrigator, to keep things cool and fresh. A large hearth with several iron appliances to accommodate cauldrons and pans of all shapes and sizes.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, the master, a room with a young man in mind, the third is very much a feminine room fit for a princess while the fourth is now a guest room while it obviously was once the room of a tasteful gentleman.
