The Watson's home is an old, two-story house with light cream paint job that fresh. The roof is deep red, and new as well. It looks out of place with the rest of the house, and neighborhood. Two apple trees are in the yard and there is a meticulously tended vegtable garden and herb garden lining one side of the tattered fence at the back of the property.

The front door opens into a spotless living room and a staircase leading upstairs. The fourth step is broken and the bannister is loose and cracked. The furniture in the living room is all antiques, probably here since they were brand new. The couches are comfortable but worn, set around a stone fireplace. There are several bookcases filled with tomes and next to one of the couches is a basket filled with knitting needles and yarn. On the walls are several paintings, mostly landscapes, all painted and signed by Gabrielle Evans.
At the back of the house is a dining room, a large table covered now with art supplies. There is a china cabinet in the corner, but through the glass of the doors one can only see books instead of dishware. Beside the dining room is the kitchen, a warm room where the oven is nearly always baking something. There are cookbooks and potion books along shelves everywhere, and a pantry reveals canning supplies, spices and potion ingredient racks.

Theodore is standing at the kitchen table. He's still in his wife beater, the dress shirt now folded neatly over the back of a chair. He has flour smeared on his face and his arms are faintly white from a dusting of the same flour. He has a knife in his hand, dripping with icing. Beside him is Irma, her own hands resting lovingly, almost a little flirtatiously, on Theodore's, guiding his hand as she apparently teaches him to ice the magnificent cake on the pedastel in front of them. Irene is at the stove, stiffing pots and smiling as she does so. "Ice faster, dear, dinner's almost ready," Irene calls to one of them, though it's hard to tell if she means Theo or Irma.

The door is knocked upon and there stands Ripley when it opened, "Sorry I am late. Mom decided it was a family day." He rolls his eyes.

Gabrielle 's not quite covered in cream colored paint, but it's enough that she had to go change her shirt and wash up quickly. she's missed a bit on her left cheek though, in her hurry. she'll holler , "I got it!" and will skip the 4th step as she goes down the stairs. She's out of breath as she opens the door. "Oh!..Ripley! I didn't think you were gonna make it." After a moment she'll smile and give him a hug. "Aunt Irene!Aunt Irma! set another plate out!" She'll whisper softly as he steps in, "Teddy's here. It's his birthday."

Theodore glances at Irma, "Like this?" Irma smiles, and gently pats his arm, "You're doin' fine," and she lifts his hand a bit, holding it gingerly. "You have very steady hands." Theo smiles, "And a wonderful baking teacher." Irma blushes a little, and looks at Irene, "See. HE thinks I'm wonderful." Then she leans in a bit to Theo, "Irene has never appreciated my baking." Theodore smiles, and returns to his icing task.

Ripley winces at the news that Theo is there and as he watches the interaction with the auntie he then chuckles and shakes his head. "I just wanted to bring a little something, just a little box of cookies to thank your Aunts for their hospitality." He pulls out a medium sized box from behind him and offers it to Gabby. As he lifts a hand, "Hello!"

Gabrielle narrows her eyes slightly at Ripley, "He came to help." She 'll smile at the box of cookies, "Thank you." Taking the box she'll let her hand linger a moment on his, giving him a questioning, 'you ok' look. She'll turn and move to the kitchen, "Ripley's here!" She'll laugh when she sees Theo's condition, "Oh no…they've gotten to you too! Between you and Conall, I should just leave!" Irene, huffs, but smiles at Gabby, then turns to Ripley, "Is everything alright? We expected to see you today, with all of Gabrielle's friends here."

Theodore wipes his face with his hand, leaving a little boop of white frosting on his nose, as he shrugs and smiles at Gabrielle. "They haven't gotten to me! They just insisted on a birthday cake. Who am I to argue with them? Your aun's are really aces, Artie." He nods at Ripley, "Cap'n."

Ripley gives a little bit of a smile to the Cap'n and nods, "Thank you for… Well, you know." He smiles a bit to Theo and then looks to the aunties, "Ah. Family matters. My apologies. I did bring some cookies to make up for it?"

Theodore furrows his flour covered brow a bit, "Stop. I didn't do nothin'," he says when Ripley apologizes. He looks at the box of cookies, and then like the idiot jock he is, he happily gestures at the aunts and says, "Cookies? Have you not had these two's baking?"

Ripley looks to Theo, "These are the ones my mom and I made today with family time." He says with a shrug.

Gabrielle 's eyes go wide, seriously , what is wrong with her aunts! Before she can say anything, Theo's stepping in and she'll just close her eyes. Irma, seeing Gabby, will sigh and take pity on the situation. "I'm sure they are lovely.thank you Ripley. Make sure to thank your mother for us as well." she'll step away from Theo , but first lifts her apron to wipe the frosting from his face. she'll hobble over, hand on the small of her back and hold her other hand out for the cookies. "We can have these with the cake for dessert…Irene, How's dinner coming along?" As soon as Gabby's hands are free, she'll offer her hand to Ripley.

Theodore scrunches his face like a kid when the apron wipes his face off. He looks at Gabrielle, like, 'help?' Once that's finished, he sits the knife down and takes a look at the cake he's finished icing. His chest sticks out a bit as he nods proudly at his work, and then he looks at Ripley. "How are things at your place? I imagine it's gonna be a rough summer…?"

Ripley shrugs his shoulders, "Dad is distant and mom just wants to spend every waking moment with me." He reaches out to take the Aunt's hand and bows to her as he does, "A pleasure." He speaks softly, "I hope I didn't intrude. I can go back home if you need me to."

Irma's eyebrows go up, an expression Gabby has clearly pick up from her. "Oh…no need. We made plenty." She'll give his hand a gentle pat before turning back towards the stove, waving Irene away, "Go on…you'll just burn the roast!"

Gabrielle giggles slightly at Theo's look. He'll get no help from her. She'll let the two house mates talk for a moment, just happy their not taking swings at each other. "We can go into the living room, if you'd like?" She's clearly talking to the two boys.

Theodore dusts his hands off, and he looks at the aunts with a grin, "If you'll excuse me, ma'ams." He then moves to follow Gabrielle to the living room as the aunts exchange mumbles about how polite he is.

Ripley shoves his hands into his pockets and looks decidedly uncomfortable in the house with the Aunts peering at him. He moves off and follows the others with his head bowed down a bit until he finds a place to sit and relaxes into the couch.

The furniture is old in the room, and worn.Gabby instinctively sits next to Ripley, but on the side furthest away from fireplace, which is not lit. She'll reach over and take his hand, her voice soft, to not carry into the kitchen, "They've had a stressful day. The idea of the house getting painted did not go over well at first." She'll look to Theo a moment then back to Ripley, "You should have seen it. It was just Conall, Morgana and all the pirates! Cillian actually smeared paint on his face like war paint. Teddy ran interference with my aunts, thankfully. " She's sounds a bit tired, but happy.

Theodore grins, "Sorry. I came to paint, but they kind of kidnapped me." He shrugs, "They're aces, Artie. Really." He looks at Ripley, "Though, she's right. You shoulda seen Popeye. He was completely in character." Then he pauses, thinking, furrowing his brow a bit. "Or… he's insane. I'm not sure which…"

"It needed to be done." Ripley speaks as he looks to Gabby and then to Theo, "Well, a good time was had by all. I swear, if my mum kisses my forehead on more time I may explode."

Gabrielle laughs softly at Theo, "It's ok…You gave Conall a chance to breath." She'll shake her head, but is smiling, "I know they are…But sometimes they're overwhelming." she'll shrug, choosing to not give her opinion on Cillian, cause…she knows. She'll give Ripley a half smile, "It did…but it's hard. I'm actually very proud of them for letting me. It was touch and go there for a bit. I had to swear to them that I bought the paint." She'll grin, "Oh…your poor forehead!" She'll mockingly look at it, "Is that just mum kisses?"

Theodore stands and just walks over to Ripley, "You poor thing…" And then he just shoves himself on top of Ripley, muscling his way to attempt to lay wet, gross tongue kisses on Ripley's forehead.

"A few from Dad too." Ripley rolls his eyes when he figures out she is kidding. "It's hard for me to get away at all and all the pictures of him are just haunting now." And then Theo comes over and Ripley gives him a punch in the gut. "Stop that!" As he laughs hard and tries to push Theo away.

Gabrielle nods understandingly, but then Theo's…kissing? getting punched? And there's laughter, so she'll pull away, laughing, letting the boys do whatever weird therapy it is they do that she just can't really understand.

Thankfully, Irene doesn't come in, but both aunts stop cooking for a moment to look at each other and smile at the laughter in the house. It's been a long time.

Theodore just drops all his weight on top of Ripley, pursing his lips making kissing noises, trying to wrestle his way to the other boy's forehead. In a high pitched voice, he mocks, "Ooooohhh. I HAVE to kiss your forehead, Rippey. I have to!"

Ripley punches a little more, not hard. he still laughs and grins at all of it and then he speaks quite low, "Well, you do have a nice bum." He comments and grins a bit more and then leans up to plant one right on Theo's cheek.

Well, she can't sit there.Gabby will try, and fail, to get between the two, "No!" Giggle giggle, she'll try to place her hands over Ripley's eyes, "No looking at Teddy's bum, Ripley!" Giggle giggle, "Stop licking him, Teddy!" Basically all she's done is knelt next to the two wrestling boys, trying to stick her arms into the pile of boy limbs.

Theodore finally manages to get his arm up to Ripley's hair, and he just musses it all up, before he rolls off the boy, laughing at the whole affair. He pushes up to his feet, and as he glances to the kitchen where the aunts are, he laughs, "You know, you're the second person to tell me that today…"

Ripley sits back on the couch and brushes his hands across his hair to get it to behave and grins a bit more, "Wow. That was unexpected." He looks to Theo, "That was… Interesting."

Gabrielle laughs, happy to see Rip happy, until what Theo says sinks in . they smile is slowly replaced with an ewhh gross face, "I swear to Merlin, ever since Conall started coming around, they've been awful!" She'll smooth a lock of hair that Ripley missed, "I should go check on them, I'll be back in a second?" She'll stand up to move off to the kitchen. This may or may not be her giving the boys a moment alone.

Theodore shrugs and walks over to the arm chair, flopping down. As he hits the chair, a little puff of flour dust rises from him, though he doesn't seem to notice. "What was interesting?" Then he just moves on, like he really doesn't care, "You need to relax."

Ripley gives a shrug, "Just… Never seen you get that excited." he says to Theo and smirks, "I know I need to. It's tough these days. Still dealing with it all. Being at home doesn't help."

Theodore rolls his eyes, "I'm a excitin' guy." He chuckles, "Anyway. Home is exactly where you SHOULD be, though. What happened? It's kinda the thing that either completely breaks a family, or makes it strong. And your folks? They ain't gonna be up to dealing with it either way. You have to man up and hold things together. Give them strength and keep your fam okay. You'll be alright eventually, but them?" He shakes his head, "Parents aren't like us."

"Like us?" Ripley says, "Wish you would tell me what 'like us' is because I could use someone to day what I should be."

Theodore lifts his brow a bit, and simply answers, "A teenager."

"And a teenager is supposed to take this on better than parents?" Ripley shakes his head a bit. "I am trying to be there for my parents but it's hard on me. I keep catching Mom crying and then trying to recover when I come into the room. I finally just told her that it was okay to cry. Dad… Stalwart as ever." He shrugs again, "It's making us closer to gether but I cannot wait for school to start so I can do other things. Even been studying…" He looks to Theo, "Will you come back to the team?"

Gabrielle steps back in, rolling her eyes at something that was said to her in the kitchen. Over her shoulder, "Maybe a week or two more, then I'll be done with the research job! The charts don't even really count!" She'll smile brightly at her slythern boys, "Dinner will be a few more minutes. Aunt Irma wanted to make some rolls." She'll freeze when she hear's the topic and will just turn around and go back into the kitchen.

Theodore opens his mouth to respond, but then Gabby comes in. He smiles her way, and then looks back to Ripley. "Yeah, a teenager is supposed to take this on better than parents. It's… It's just like Quidditch, man. Your parents are coaches, and they just lost a player. You have to keep flying. You have to call the next play and

It's… It's just like Quidditch, man. Your parents are coaches, and they just lost a player. You have to keep flying. You have to call the next play and keep the team from falling apart, because for all their smarts and all their experience, coaches influence the game but they don't play it anymore. The quaffles in your hands on this, buddy. You have to keep your parents going. Even if it means you don't get to worry or deal with things until later in the locker room. Or back at Hogies' this fall."

Ripley gives theo a really long look and then speaks, "you know… for an ass, you sure can speak a lot of sense."

"I ain't an ass," Theo dismisses, waving his hand and looking away. "I ain't tellin' you anything you don't already know. This is basic Captain stuff. You've just been hit awful hard. You'll be alright, Rip."

Ripley grins back, "Just glad that I can call you my friend again."

Theodore makes a barfing sound at Ripley's sentiment, and then he looks at the kitchen door, shouting, "Artie! Your boyfriend's bein' gross!"

Gabrielle comes back in, a bot of flour on her shirt. Her eyes wide, looking between the two, "Everything ok?"

Theodore pushes up to his feet. "As well as things can be with a smelly Fox in the room." He grins, "I need food in my belly. Let's make them feed us." And then he just walks into the kitchen.
