After the Opening Theme fades you are greeted by the very distinctive voice of Brad Moody
Lets find the truth, this is Cauldron Talk, with yours truly, Brad Moody.
Good morning, today we are going to talk about the recent press release from the Ministry of Magic. After my interview yesterday they felt the need to release a Press Release. If you haven't had a chance to catch it yet, let me read it to you, it is from the Ministry of Magic Central Department, in case any of are wondering.
Recent articles in the Daily Prophet and on the Wizarding Wireless Network have referenced the investigation and prosecution of Darnell Glinch and his use of what is a restricted spell. While being questioned in Azkaban, Glinch and his wand were tested. The ministry is now aware that the type of spell Glinch used is an older and restricted version of the obliviate spell used by the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes.
The current spell as it is used by the Ministry is not the restricted use spell, which is not allowed to be used anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Following his interrogation Glinch revealed the process through which he learned the restricted spell used and further arrests have been made.
The Ministry of Magic wishes to make clear that it will pursue any and all suspects believed to be using restricted magic or those maliciously using non-restricted magic and ensure that Britain is safe.
First let me thank the Ministry for their quick response and bringing the truth to the people. Though I am slightly disappointed in the length of time it took for them to release this information. As I feel it would have been vital for Public Safety. Though there is still a few things that bother me, and I want to share those with you right now. I mean are we really safe?
First I in reference to yesterday's show, I was speaking about certain Charms that are apparently covered under the Statue of Secrecy, I will note that the spell in question, was covered under the Press Release. However my concern still stands, if the Statue of Secrecy is revoked, what happens to the spells actually covered by the Statue? Do they simply become unrestricted, Do Wizard become free to use them? I would have rather liked if the Ministry would have touched on this. So my stance remains, is revoking the Statue of Secrecy really safe? Even though most of these spells are restricted due to the fact they very clearly reveal us to muggle kind, are they ready for that?
Can the muggle population accept a "Hey here we are, this is magic!" approach?
I mean Muggles can not handle themselves in a civialized manner, so if we reveal ourselves to them along with spells, ranging from the simplest to the more complex what will happen? Chaos people, that is exactly what will happen. The muggles are not our friends, they fear what they don't know.
Well my Seekers, My Friends and yes you my opposition, that is it for this installment of Cauldron Talk. But before I go, I would like to remind you, that here not soon My New show will be coming to Wizarding Wireless Network, Quizard! This is going to be a new type of show, with yours truly, Brad Moody! To put it simply it is a Quiz Show you will want to flick your wands at. We are still accepting entries, for it's premier. If you think you have what it takes and know enough about the Wizarding World, please send me an owl, you might just get one back with an invitation, to be on Quizard!
Also I wish to send out a warm thank you to the indviduals I shared a few drinks with last evening at the Leaky Cauldron. Your support of our show is always greatly appreciated.
With that, I leave you to ponder the truth! I'll catch you next time, Around the Cauldron, for Cauldron Talk!
