Dear Mister Diderot,

I sincerely hope that this letter does not find you at a bad time and if it has, then you have my sincerest apologies for intruding upon your presence. You don't know me. I wonder if all of your letters start out like that. I am a fan, of course. It's impossible not to be and I have faithfully followed absolutely all of your books. Though I hope that doesn't sound to brow nosish. I've never written a fan letter before, or a letter like this, which while yes, I am very much a fan isn't entirely a fan letter. Or maybe it is.

Clearly, I am not cut out to be an author, my words just keep running all over the page.

And all those little I's are dotted with clouds, some of them are even smiling.

However, I am a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and fellow Hufflepuff, if you do not mind the association and I was, hoping, on behalf of the newly formed but entirely unoffical Book Club, that you might be persuaded to come and speak to us? It would be an absolute honor and no doubt make our first meeting something of a success.

If there is a worry about your time and it's worth, while my own funds are limited, I can attempt to see that you are re-imbursed for your presence because I understand that everyone has to work and if you are here, then you are clearly being taken away from something else but it would just be such a joy.

The basis of our club is simply a love of books, a love of the written word and of story, whether that story is written by a wizard or a muggle and I sincerely hope that such does not offend you. If it does, again, I apologize.

If you are worryed about being bothered for autographs and aren't in the mood, because I understand too, that sometimes people just aren't in the mood to do things, then I can make sure that no one will bother you unless you'd prefer it. And if…if this letter happens to make it through your fanmail and you have any questions, comments, or concerns, then I may be reached by owl at Hogwarts.

Or, if you would like to speak with me in person, to validate my claims and alay any concerns that you might have, I should be more than happy too, if you are able to come to Hogsmeade sometime on the 18th of January, or the weekend of January 31's. If these weekends are not good times, do please let me know!

Yours Sincerely,
Always a fan,
Leader of the Book Club,

Adorabella Rochelle Selwyn
