Pringle waits on a bench as the Hogwarts Express chugga-grinds to a halt. The utility dagger he was previously using to pick at under his nails is used for a moment like a baton, "Oi, First Years, ovah 'ere." His thick Scottish brogue as surly as ever. He sheathes his dagger and then pulls out his wand to use it as a directional baton now. "Stay put, righ' 'ere." With a flick and a muttering the lantern at his feet bursts into a bright yellow glow. "Rest of yew, off to the carriages, keep in line or I'll be seeing yew soon. Keep it down as well, dinnae want to disturb the centaurs and all end up pin cushions. An' there's a full moon risin'." He glowers at the older students before the glower is turned back to the gathering First Years. "Hurry up now. Sun's fadin'."

Josie is waiting too… she got to ride the train once, but she usually doesn't as she lives right here in Hogsmeade. She waits by the path to the carriages, looking for her friends.

Lissie brightens at the sound of the Scottish brogue, and she breathes in deeply. She stands a moment, mentally checking to make certain that she's packed everything neatly away. Then she nods and scampers over towards Pringle, nearly tripping over her over-long robes in her excitement and eagerness.

Alicia was whistling a happy song to herself as she stepped off the train, luggage in hand. Alicia let out a happy sigh when she saw the familiar sight of the station. She couldn't help but smile as the First Years were getting loaded up. "Happy Travels!" Alicia called out to some of the first years that she, by chance, wound up riding with. In particular, she lifted a hand and waved at Lissie as she scampered over to Pringle. "Oh they're going to have so much fun," Alicia mused aloud.

Eutheria looks at the rather grim, imposing man - biting at her lower lip. She creeps towards the area he indicated, but keeps a reasonable amount of distance between herself and the man. The rest of the teachers would be like him, would they? All scowls and dark looks? Oh, she hopes not.

"We're back at 'Ogwarts!" Felix bounds off of the train, and absolutely does not stick the landing. He tumbles onto the platform, ending in a sprawl, limbs splayed out around him.

Madeline comes out right after Felix, grinning in amusement as she offers the boy a hand up. "It'll be a great year this time," she responds. Or at least, she really, really hopes so. And no reason that shouldn't be the case - with Dumbledore in charge.

Druella smoothes her hair as she steps from the train, taking in Pringle and his thick brogue with equanimity, but the news that they're to be separated from the others with faint dismay. "Oh - why are we going separately?" she wonders, coming up close behind Lissie.

"Be it ever so friendly…" Amber squints and makes a slight face at the Caretaker's welcoming words, and she murmurs this thought herself. However, she has scarcely any time to think on this. The hustle and bustle of students splitting off into groups is always a bit overwhelming. Felix's antics catch the girl's attention, and she also strolls over to where he lays, and Madeline is helping him to his feet: "Hey, you alright?" She asks, quizzically.

Alexander had been anxious for the whole train ride over. He had even forgotten to change into his school robes until the last minute, and so his uniform was looking a little unkempt from his haste to get it on. The shy boy stumbled off the train with the rest of the students, and was looking around completely lost until he heard someone calling for first years, when he decided to move quickly in that direction.
He saw a few other students already filing in behind the caretaker, and he ducked his head shyly to avoid any undue attention. It was only when he saw Eutheria that he seemed to perk up a bit, and the freckled boy gave his friend a small smile. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

"He's got a hard head," Madeline answers Amber. "Does this all the time. You know, if you put one marble on the floor, in the middle of an empty room, with a smooth floor… He'll manage to fall over every time. And probably without stepping on the marble, even."

Felix takes Madeline's hand, springing right up to his feet like he was made of rubber. "Righ' as rain!" he chirps to Amber in a thick Cockney accent, giving Madeline a nudge of his elbow. "I wouldn't wanna 'urt the poor, innocent marble, would I?"

Gabriel walks By the gathering group of first years to make his way towards the carriages. To Lissie he smiles and says, "Just watch out for the giant squid. Sometimes he gets too friendly when the boats fgo by." then as he passes Pringle he tips an invisible hat, "Groundskeeper Pringle! Long time, no see! I hope you had a great summer!" He continues on, not giving the usually surly Caretaker time to answer and as he gets closer to the carriages he spots some friendly faces, including one of the few Slytherin he can stomach, "Josie! Maddy! Felix! Samira! How's things!?" Of course, he hollering his greetings almost at the top of his lungs.

Alicia looked over in Amber's direction and saw that she was going after Felix, who Alicia doesn't know very well, and Madeline, who Alicia has met quite a few times. Alicia finds herself wandering over there too. "Oh, hi Madeline," Alicia said with a soft smile, "Isn't it wonderful to be back? I've never got to ride to school as a second year." Alicia then looks over at Gabriel and blinks. "And I thought /I/ was glad to be here!" Alicia commented.

Josie, as she spots Gabriel Madeline and Felix, runs forward to meet them, "Hi! Did you have a good summer?" Except Gabriel isn't quite by the others, so she adds a wave to him.

Sierra is standing on the platform - and waves to Amber as the other girl exits. She's doing her best to greet her friend with a warm smile, but it's hard when she's only just said goodbye to her family, and Colton who wouldn't be joining her at school for the year. Still, she starts over, deposing her luggage soo it can be brought to the school.

Like Josie, there are a lot more students that are waiting at the station but they didn't come by the train. The train population was quite down this year from usual as many of the parents opted to not take their children to London after the bombings a few days ago. This means that Pringle is even more grumpier than usual in this event because he's had to herd and correct he students that have been showing up and being deposited by worried parents for several hours now. "Flitwick, get on a carriage before yew kill someone or yerself." A dangerous and tight grin is aimed at Gabriel. "It was fantastic Ward." His wand is used to point and count off the heads of the firsties gathering around him.

Stanley ambled off the Hogwarts Express with a bright grin and high hopes for the next year at school. His second year! He couldn't wait to find out who his new housemates would be, and what they would be learning, and all that. First years always brought in an opportunity for new sales, if he could make the right stuff. Plus they were usually loaded with pocket money their parents had sent along with them.

First things first, he had to find some people he knew. One of the first that stood out to him was Maddie, the girl he'd gone ingredient hunting with in Greenhouse 3. That was an adventure. It only took a few days for the boils on his hands to heal. No big deal! It was all for the sake of his inventions. "Madeline!" he calls out as he jogs over to where the girl is standing, giving her a brilliant smile. "How was your summer?"

An entire train car groans and tilts as a large man…no, an enormous BOY steps off. Rubeus Hagrid mumbles an apology to the students that had been stuck behind him as he squeezed out of the train. When he reaches the platform, he wrings his hands nervously, glancing around with considerable uncertainty in his dark eyes.

"Hey Josie!" Madeline greets her friend. It was hardly the first time she'd seen her that summer - what with her uncle having a place in Hogsmeade and all, now. "Oh, it was marvelous. It's always so nice being with family, isn't it? And this year - I get proper Hogsmeade weekends!" Stanley is also greeted with a friendly smile. "Hey there!"

Samira slinks out of her compartment from the Hogwarts Express. Arms folded behind her back, she rests her palms up under her elbows. Standing thus, she the first year students heading towards Pringle and the boats beyond with a bit of a smile. But, as a MASSIVE boy she doesn't recognize emerges from a car not far away, she blinks and can't help but stare curiously as many others do.

Felix throws a hand to his forehead in a sloppy salute to Mr. Pringle. "Aye, aye, sir!" He's just about to dash off to a carriage when Madeline draws his attention to Josie. Oh look, a distraction! "Oi, wotcher, Josie!" he hollers, coming up beside Madeline again.

Amber tries - she really does - to stifle a giggle behind the back of her hand at Maddie's description of Felix. It's all too true, but still… Unfortunately, stifling the giggle just makes her snort lightly. "Just don't break anything important, oui?"

Lowering her hand as her sister arrives, Amber grins: "You'll like the carriage ride, Ali - promise." Even if she is partial to boats, herself - she does enjoy the carefree ride to school.

Catching sight of Sierra, Amber excuses herself from the others and trots over to meet her, dodging students as she goes. Closing the distance between them, Amber throws her arms around her friend to give her a warm hug.

Pringle's eyes widen just a touch and for a fraction of the moment; he was coming up short on his firstie head count, but there the head comes! "Oi, Haffie," He bellows at Rubeus, "c'mon and 'urry up. Yew'll be in me boat, that's about all that can fit. Leave your things, they'll be handled for yew. Right! Form up an' follow me First Years. Prefects, yew're in charge of gettin the rest to the castle alive an' in one piece. Good luck…"

"It's appreciated - because it's probably my marble, that Mischief made off with!" Madeline answers her friend with a giggle. "Com'on - let's see how many we can squeeze into a carriage!" she encourages her friends.

Alicia looked over in the enormous boy's direction. Alicia smiled and offered a little wave to Rubeus — knowing that the train ride over was a little awkward for him. Alicia also smiled over at Sierra when she entered the fray, so to speak. The fresh second-year student wrapped her arms over her chest and started to hum a piece of classical music to herself: that's what she did when was a touch anxious. "I'm sure it's lovely," Alicia said to Amber, "Although the view of the castle from the boats is quite lovely. You should ask Pringle if you can help with the boats, Amber." Sometimes it's hard to tell if Alicia is joking or not.
