Description

Standing at six foot eight inches this man holds himself up straight and proud with a confident air to him. He appears to be in his early or mid twenties. Hair of a light brown reaches down over his ears and down the back of his neck in a chin length style that is a combination of both messy and stylish fashions. Deep blue eyes set under neath trimmed brown brows look out on the world with a calm calculating stare. His face is oval shaped with high cheekbones and a squared and angular jaw that has just the barest hint of stubble to it. His build is strong and muscled and with his height it gives him a rather imposing look.

He wears a high collared black long-sleeved shirt. It buttons down the front and is worn with black slacks and low heeled black leather boots. A flowing black robe is worn over this with heavy silver buttons down its front. On his hands are a pair of black gloves and on his right hand is a ornate silver band designed to look like a serpent coiled around his finger. The eyes of the snake are two small rubies and the ring itself is quite intricately detailed. Other than that ring he wears no jewelry or other accessories.

Background

With its origins in Germany, the pure-blooded Eldritch family came over to England in the late 1800s. They settled in London and set up a trading business. The Eldritch family at this time is quite well-to-do with connections and respect in many pure-blood circles. They are known for being good at business and often get involved in politics. They are largely a neutral family and known for both cunning and bravery and the family is a mix of former Slytherins and Gryffindors with a few Ravenclaws here and there.

Nathan is youngest of three children and second son to the Eldritch family's main branch living in London, England. Nathan's father Jerick Eldritch had two sons his heir Marcus and his daughter Amalia, Nathan was last and mostly overlooked as a child. Determined to stand out, the young Nathan became known as a prankster and a troublemaker. He snuck around and snooped in places he should not go, avoided his lessons when it suited him and was a general nuisance growing up. He brought home many stray animals and Nathan's love of dogs and cats was how the family discovered Amalia was allergic to them. As he grew Nathan became more and more of a free spirit. He liked the attention that came with his outlandish stunts even if it was negative.

It was no surprise that he got his Hogwarts letter, though his father might have wished he could disown his troublesome son. Still that thought was forgotten as he went to Hogwarts and pleased his family for once with his sorting into Slytherin one of the familys favored houses. He didn't earn much praise after this though. Despite having decent scores in several subjects including Dark Defense, Potions and Transfiguration he was a rather mediocre student finding the lessons quite tedious. His sibling had done it all before him and he saw no reason to beat them as it would likely go unnoticed by his father anyway. He had several friends from all the houses both pure-blood and half-bloods and a few muggleborns as well. He enjoyed the social element of the school if not the actual learning part and acquired something of a bad boy image at this time. For electives he took Ancient Runes which was interesting and Divination which was nowhere near as interesting as he hoped. He found no reason to continue his schooling after O.W.Ls.

Instead he went to work for one of his fathers less talked about associates who dealt in smuggling alcohol and other goods. He was taught the ropes of the work by a named named Dillorous Diderot. Soon after he started this work Amalia married and Nathan only managed to hear about it from his brother. He and his sister had never been close and when her daughter Lara was born he was told in quite certian terms to stay away and he has. He did well as a smuggler and made several contacts that he keeps to this day. He was known for being a mysterious yet friendly sort and his flirty and easy going nature gained him quite a bit of attention.

One of these people was a woman named Elissa Carrow. She was a cousin of the main branch of the family and two years younger than Nathan. He met her first at a dance hall and then after a few dates she considered him hers. Nathan was quite unnerved by the woman and her demanding and pushy nature and when she asked when he was going to ask her to marry him he told her he wasn't considering it. After that Elissa became angry and obsessed and Nathan burned over four howlers a night for about four days before the woman was being sweet to him again. He distanced himself and avoided her like he would someone who had contracted the plague. At that point Nathan was nowhere near ready for a real relationship and besides that woman was scary…

After ten years in the smuggling business and making a small fortune independent from his family who still wanted almost nothing to do with him he bought out a pub in Knockturn Alley wanting to pursue his dream of running his own business and still have some dealings with his old smuggling partners as well. And so The Drunken Dragon was brought into being. Now Nathan has mellowed a bit but still maintains a bit of his wild unpredictable nature. Still the older he gets the more he begins to consider more stable and lasting things.

• Pub Owner: He bought out a Knockturn Alley pub and made it his own. Its called the Drunken Dragon. Need a drink, a game of dice or cards, or a place to lurk?
• Likes Gambling: He enjoys games with stakes to them be it cards or dice. Not all wagers need be money either.
• Survivor Instincts: He sides with those he think will win and put him on top. He isn't very involved in politics though he is more concerned with his own affairs than those of others.
• Former Slytherin: He went to Hogwarts from 1924-1929 and left after his OWLs. He was a fairly average student but fairly good in practical magics and very social and friendly.
• Former Smuggler: From age fifteen to twenty five he worked in this business. Other smugglers and those in the business in the last ten years would likely know of him or have heard of him.
• Underworld: His pub caters to darker sorts and he himself isn't exactly squeaky clean either.

• Wealth: Well-To-Do: Between his former work as a smuggler, his pub, and an ever growing list of side investments he makes good money.
• Moxie: He doesn't pull punches with words and can be rather bold at times.
• Flirt: Men or women if they are reasonably attractive he will likely make the attempt.
• Unpredictable: He does what he feels like when he feels like it. This makes it rather hard to predict what he will do next.

Phil Acquaintance We met briefly when I was finalizing a deal to purchase a pub. She seems clever and works as a journalist with the Daily Prophet. Could be a useful contact to have.

Rhyeline Acquaintance A sweet innocent looking sort and a very nice sort of challenge. Despite the danger in getting closer I can't seem to stay away.

Ranjit Acquaintance A healer I met at the Leaky Cauldron. I offered to share my table and she proved quite friendly.

Frid Acquaintance An interesting and intelligent fellow with knowledge in several areas. He works for the owner of the Three Broomsticks and I almost wish I could hire him for myself.

Rena Acquaintance A very nice young woman who I bumped into one evening and then met once again at the sweet shop. She is an auror but I still think she might make a good friend and contact once I get to know her better.

Takeshi Acquaintance I met him only briefly in the Leaky Cauldron. He seemed a bit odd and yet not a bad guy overall. He seemed terribly shy though.

Cooper Acquaintance We met at the sweet shop and she teased me about my love of chocolates. She seems like she would be fun to get to know further.

Graham Acquaintance Another auror who claims to have heard something about me. I hope its not too terrible a story and if it is I will just have to convince him that I'm harmless…well mostly anyway.

Fabia Acquaintance A charming and delightful woman who seems to like alcohol as much as myself. She will likely be great fun to get to know better. I hope to take her dancing in the future.

Dillorous Former mentor and business associate We have known each other for years now and he was something of a mentor for me and became a friend that I have fallen out of touch with until just recently.

Jerick Eldritch Father Our relationship is not good. Hostile would be the best word. He sees me as the bane of our families existence and I really don't care.

Edith Eldritch Mother She means well but my god is she controlling she never let me have an inch of freedom as a child and now that I'm out of her reach I will do what I want regardless of what she thinks.

Marcus Eldritch Older Brother The closest person to me in my family though that is not saying much. He is the only who still bothers to contact me on occasion and the fact I supply him with his favorite scotch may have something to do with this…

Amalia Stuart Older Sister My polar opposite. Where Marcus and I got along on some points my sister disagreed with me completely on almost everything. I think she sees me a s a black spot on the family name and I think she takes herself too seriously.

Lara Niece Amalia's Daughter. We have never actually met due to my rather tense relationship with Amalia. I wonder what she has been told about me or if she even knows I exist.

Cassius He shouldn't have tried to tell me what to do. I will do whatever I please. If it brings destruction down on my head so be it but I will not go down without a fight.
