Description
Noalan is the kind of boy who doesn't seem to care about style, instead, comfort seems to be the key to the boys appearance. His school robes aren't brand new, and, though clean, they tend to be wrinkled and somewhat loose on his 5’6” frame. Both his shoes and clothing are well broken in for ease of movement. His dark brown hair is clean but un-styled, resulting in a general scruffiness. His fare skin and green eyes denotes a Celtic or Germanic ancestry.
Background
Noalan's parents, both pure bloods, are testaments to the saying "Opposites attract". Angeline Solomon and Noalan Eibon Jr. were childhood friends throughout school despite Angeline being in Hufflepuff and Noalan being a Slytherin. It wasn't until several years after they left school that the relationship got romantic and lead to marriage. They named their first child Noalan Eibon the 3rd.
Noalan's parents were living in a small magical community in Wiltshire when he was born. When Noalan was 5 his grandparents were involved in an 'incident', resulting in both their deaths. There were a lot of questions over the events, but the investigation hit a dead end and ended up being dropped. Lan's father, being the first born, inherited both the family home, on the west coast of the Scottish highlands, and the remains of the family business.
Noalan was an only child for only a couple years; soon he gained a brother and then a sister. His mom stayed at home with him and, part time, to exercise her care of magical creatures knowledge by volunteering at wild magical creature preserves. On occasion, Angeline would bring Noalan or one of his siblings along on the more innocuous sanctuary visits. As he got older, she allowed him to help. Noalan ended up spending a great deal of his early life outdoors.

Lan's first magical experience occurred during one of the conservationist trips. He and his mother were on a hike to check on a small unicorn sanctuary near where they lived. His mother had him wait back out of sight while she continued on to check on the Unicorns, having explained to him they weren't fond of human boys and can be dangerous at times. Left behind outside the sanctuary, Noalan was alone for less than ten minutes when he heard the sounds of movement, and the motions of some nearby vegetation. Unable to see anything there, and having some idea of how dangerous creatures can be, he was terrified. Wanting nothing more than to vanish until the creatures went away, he granted his own wish. Magically he faded into the shadows until the invisible presence passed. He remained hidden, wrapped in darkness, until his mother returned. She later explained to him the invisible creatures were Thestrals and that he was never in any danger.
Lan's uncle, and his muggle born wife, were killed in an accident during one of their aquatic expeditions when Lan was still young. They're son and daughter came to live with Noalans family after that. Lan got along with Dryden all right, better than Lan did with his own brother at least, but they were never very close. Noalan's brother, on the other hand, was a different matter. As the first born of the family, Lan will be the next one to inherit the family home and business when his parents pass. This doesn't sit well with Angelus, and a rather unhealthy rival has sprung up between the two.
Noalan's summer is more eventful in some ways than when he's at school. If he isn't accompanying his mother to a preserve or with his father on business, he spends his free time examining the sealed tower on his family's estate. It's been examined for generations going back into the mists of time, but there's always the chance he'll find something everyone else missed and find a way to open it. There's always the conundrum of Angelus. Though better behaved when their parents are around, Noalan has to be even more on guard when they're gone. He's invested a fair amount of his allowance on door locks.

Current Head of Family: Noalan Aurum Eibon II & Angeline Eibon nee Solomon Eibon: An ancient pure blooded wizard family. While the family has long been involved in extensive global travel, the family maintained constant home in the highlands of Scotland. For this reason, the primary blood line of the Eibon Family is easy to trace. The main line of the Eibon family trace their ancestry back to a tribe of Celtic Druids in Scotland, the oldest parts of the family estate still bear the marks of their Druid heritage. This history extends all the way back to when the area was thought of as Hyperborea. The name Eibon has gone through many variations in its past, including the Latinized Ivonis, Ivoni, and Ivors. The name it’s self dates back to the original Proto-Indo-European name Eibhonsis, meaning ‘Sword Bred’. Though the family has gone through various levels of notoriety through history, they are currently rather notorious. This is, in part, due to rumors of illicit dealings with the family, partly because of the suspicious circumstances of the deaths of Noalan I and his wife, and partly because of the ruthless business practices of Noalan II. |
