The Sacred Twenty-Eight
The Pure-Blood Directory, an anonymously published book, claims a "Sacred Twenty-Eight" — twenty-eight families considered to have the purest blood. The Sacred Twenty-Eight are: Abbott, Avery, Black, Bulstrode, Burke, Carrow, Crouch, Fawley, Flint, Gaunt, Greengrass, Lestrange, Longbottom, Macmillan, Malfoy, Nott, Ollivander, Parkinson, Prewett, Rosier, Rowle, Selwyn, Shacklebolt, Shafiq, Slughorn, Travers, Weasley, and Yaxley.
Families that are crossed out have, since the time of publishing, mixed their blood and are no longer considered pure by the author's standards. ((OOC: Please do not create a half-blood attached to the above families that are not struck-through.))
There are many pure-blood families in the wizarding world. The degree of "blood purity" among them can vary, as do the viewpoints on the importance of blood status.
For greater detail on each family there is a link within the family description that will lead to the individual family page. Where things like family trees, members, history, identity, crest, reputation, locations of homes and more can be found. It is important to familiarize oneself with the information provided so that congruity can be maintained. We work very hard to make sure that everyone has their stories woven in together.

Many an Abbott has taken a Mayoral position and were charged with keeping the veil between the Wizards and Muggles that share the village as opaque as possible. Their point of view on purism is less about purism and more about the Statute of Secrecy, most in this family are very proud members of the Preservation Society.

The Dippet Family family tree looks quite a bit like a long trunked tree that suddenly expands like a burst of fireworks at the bottom with lots of roots. Also notable is that these heir were longed lived. Though in this day and age the Dippet Family has normalized to a more typical elongated wizarding lifespan and family size.
